VIRGINIA —
As the head of Griffith Colson Intelligence Service (GCIS), a private intelcom agency, prepares to take on the dual role as Director-General of Machaseh Security Service, a GCIS unit, this month, W. Edward Griffith will have an opportunity to put his imprint on the private spy agency, possibly shaking up the way it does business.

According to one insider at the firm, Griffith already has a deep understanding of what he perceives to be Machaseh’s weaknesses and strengths. According to th same source, he will be adopting uniforms for MSS personnel and will maintain a plain clothes division for intelcom field operators. Griffith already has a reputation at GCIS for being “in full control” and is not affraid to hold people accountable under his command.

“He will be locking down Machaseh and make it as tight as GCIS”, said the source who wishes to remain anonymous, “He’s a hands-on leader and he’ll be the same as director-general at MSS”.

Personnel are watching closely to see how Griffith will tackle his new roles. In addition to Machaseh’s directorate-general, Griffith also took over as Director of The Office of Intelligence Services at DefenseTech Systems Group, a Griffith Colson subsidiary.

“He has centralized his authority and people are aware of it here”, said the source,”Even DefenseTech’s team is hush hush on the subject. They will not make waves.”

DefenseTech’s CEO David Wessman, who answers to Griffith, said he welcomed the leadership changes and looks forward to seeing “a period of growth and new ideas” at the company.
